Bill Spelbring

Landscape Designer and Construction Sales

Bill moved from the Midwest to Oregon in the late 1970s and earned his degree in landscape architecture from the University of Oregon in 1983. By listening to his customers’ wants and needs, he has designed and built landscapes using his expertise in hardscapes, water features, lawns, plantings, outdoor lighting and other outdoor living environments. Bill enjoys the contrast of man-made elements softened by Aspen Creek’s rich palette of plants. He looks forward to bringing you the landscape you desire.

Jeremy Tobin

General Manager

Jeremy has been managing landscape maintenance on the West Coast since 2003. Since moving to Oregon and joining Aspen Creek in 2013 he has strived to provide clients with excellent customer service. His vast knowledge of plant health, ornamental pruning and proper maintenance techniques ensure our client’s gardens look their best. Jeremy is currently the President of the Portland Region of the Oregon Landscape Contractors Association and an active member of the Sherwood community. As a former class clown he can now be found hamming it up around the office in a vain attempt to make everyone laugh. Jeremy enjoys spending his free time with his wife Allison and their two children Cooper and Phoebe.

Sabrina Strandvold

Administrative Assistant

Since 2016 Sabrina has been the first voice our new client’s hear when they contact the company. Her excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills help the back office run smoothly. A native of California, Sabrina moved to Oregon in 2014 to be closer to her family. She loves the outdoors and has fully embraced the Pacific Northwest as her home. In her free time she can be found hiking, spending time with her family and dancing like its 1999.

Scott Picker

Scott caught the landscaping bug at an early age as he and his brother started a small landscaping company in High School. He then moved on to Washington State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Education in 1998. Since founding Aspen Creek in 2000, Scott has been an active member of the community and landscape industry serving as the State President of the Oregon Landscape Contractors Association in 2014. His artistic vision, extensive plant knowledge and attention to detail are the foundation of the company’s success. In his free time Scott can be found frolicking in the pastures with his herd of Texas Longhorns or spending time with his wife Amelia and their two children Carson and Emily.

Monica Nuno

Office Manager

Since joining Aspen Creek in 2010, Monica has proved herself to be an invaluable asset to the company. Monica manages everything from HR to Party Planning and keeps things running smoothly. A graduate of Portland State, Monica also studied in Mexico and brings a wealth of administrative skills to the table. Her greatest asset is her ability to keep everyone in line and moving in the right direction. Monica can be found taming Wild Horses in her free time, which is strangely similar to her day job.

Shirl McMayon

Landscape Sales/Project Manager

Shirl recently moved to Oregon from Utah/Nevada and brings almost 35 years of landscape experience to the team. She earned her degree in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Louisiana and has been an ISA Certified Arborist since 1996. Shirl has worked in landscape maintenance and construction in parks and recreation, municipalities, resorts/casinos/golf courses, HOA’s and has an extensive background working with residential clients. As the arborist for the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah Shirl had the pleasure of riding as a passenger on training runs with the USA Bobsled Team. Her most recent career accomplishment was assisting with the design, installation, maintenance and volunteer coordination of the Las Vegas Healing Garden, a community park built to honor the 58 lives lost in the October 1, 2017 mass shooting, earning several green industry awards for her efforts. Shirl is an avid hiker/camper/cyclist/gardener and can be found hiking in the forest most weekends. These days most of her free time is dedicated to her new grandson – the primary reason she relocated to Oregon.

Andre Knoop

Maintenance Manager

Born in the Netherlands, Andre moved with his wife and 4 children to the Pacific Northwest in 2007. Andre’s past experience in the field and as an Account Manager in the Landscape Industry make him the ideal Maintenance Manager. His strong communication skills and attention to detail ensure our crew’s work hard to make our client’s gardens look their best. He claims to be an expert stroopwafel baker, but we have yet to taste these Dutch treats. Andre enjoys spending his free time with his family and enjoying the outdoors. Having recently relocated from Bend to the Portland Area he looks forward taking in all the area has to offer.

Jonny Braithwaite

Special Services Manager

Starting at the age of 16 when he became a stone masons apprentice in Northern England Jonny has truly had a passion for landscapes. He cut his teeth restoring and installing hardscapes throughout the UK. While training in the US as a member of the Royal Engineers, Jonny fell in love with the states and moved here permanently in 2014. Jonny’s experience as Construction Foreman and Project Manager give him a unique perspective on the job and allows him to expertly train and manage our crews. Our resident health nut, Jonny enjoys spending his free time with his daughter, enjoying the outdoors, doing CrossFit and shaming the rest of us to live a healthy lifestyle.
